Slacking on the Blog

So I've not posted in a while, been busy finishing up an RIA for a Norfolk Southern Corporation and a calendar for Princeton Retirement Group , worked more on bluetube's new site (pre alpha)  and got fluorine working with a .net app that uses nhibernate to ms sql server.  Also looking into javascript debuggers as I seem to be doing more and more dhtml.

Merry Christmas to all, and here's to a happy new year too.

Grant.

It Begins

I've been doing a lot of searches on google recently, being fairly new to .NET a lof stuff I know in JAVA I'm not familiar with in .NET and a lot of the help I find is from bloggers.  I'm also doing research on many different types of technology integration, flash to java, flash to .net and then all these questions come up should  I use webservices, should I use flash remoting, there is a open source remoting for JAVA, but no open source for .NET  I record this stuff either in email, bookmarks or scribble on a piece of paper that is promptly stolen from wherever I thought I left it.

I know my book marks are out of control and I have all this rubbish stored in emails that I'll never find, the google desktop didn't help as my work laptop is so slow I disable the  google desktop most of the time.

So enough of the waffling, the blog is here so I can record my thoughts, things I'm researching where I found them, things I figured out, it will predominantly be programming or design related probably JAVA/J2EE, .NET and flash, but other stuff may sneak in like where to find the cheapest flights to Manchester from Atlanta. (if you know tell me! )  If these thoughts helps others then great, if not, at least I have a place to search when I've forgotten what the hell I was thinking about :)

The Blog is called ginormous because its one of my favorite words.  I think its really british slang but my girlfriend, Stephanie  (American) thinks  its funny that enormous and gigantic are not enough so ginormous was born, I of course defended the word implying it was practically a real word in the dictionary and then the other day I was vidicated , well almost :

Ginormous, number 1 top made up word

The resident alien domain I think you can figure out :)
